Defining CREATIVE ARTS THERAPY
The Red Pencil is an international organization with expertise in creative arts therapy.
Creative arts therapy uses the creative and expressive process of art-making to improve and enhance the psychological and social well-being of individuals of all ages, cultures, and health conditions.
“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way – things I had no words for.”
Georgia O’Keeffe

Creating & measuring
Impact
We follow the logic model to prepare, implement and evaluate our programmes and generate impact. For each project, we clearly identify the inputs required, the activities we undertake, their outputs, the immediate outcomes that result from the programme and the impact. We measure the changes by collecting quantitative and qualitative data.
Our monitoring, evaluation and learning process provides valuable information for designing effective art therapy programmes and continually improving our work.
We work with art therapy researchers to better understand the process of change in our interventions and measure their effectiveness.
