Background

During the following 8 days, a total of 40 refugee students, aged 10 to 16 attended small group art therapy sessions. The teachers took on the role to facilitate the sessions with Art therapists as observers and provided feedback and guidance before and after the sessions.

Some of the objectives were:

  • To raise awareness on art therapy.
  • To provide long term and meaningful support through teaching visual journal to the teachers and volunteers.
  • To implement visual journaling as a therapeutic tool for beneficiaries to express their emotions and find inner resources to cope.
