CORPORATE ARTS THERAPY
The importance of employees’ wellbeing and mental health has gained increasing attention in the recent years. Studies have shown that taking care of employees’ wellness not only helps reduce work-related stress and absenteeism, but also boosts workplace productivity. Wellness programmes thus benefit both the employee and the organisation, and employers can play an important role in ensuring that their employee’s wellbeing is looked after.
In Belgium for instance, a law has been implemented in 2014 to ensure that organisations offer programmes that can help reduce employee’s risk of burnout. Gradually, we see other countries implementing similar endeavours that aim at improving the employee’s overall wellbeing.
An evidence-based efficient tool that can be used to help nurture an employee’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing is arts therapy.
A study by Visnola et al. (2010: 89-90) has shown that art therapy “reduces the stress level of employees”, “strengthens self-conception” and improves “communication and collaboration which in turn decreases stress and anxiety.”
Those considering an arts therapy programmes for their employees may find The Red Pencil’s corporate arts therapy offerings to be of value to their personnel.
For every donation of 5000 SGD, your organisation will receive a 1000 SGD worth of non-tax deductible corporate arts therapy programme for your employees, while the 4000 SGD will be allotted to support The Red Pencil’s mission (tax deductible). This package consists of 5 two-hour sessions (where employees can sign up at their convenience) to be completed within 6 months.
An additional 25 SGD will be charged per person for arts material that employees can keep for their own use and make the programme sustainable in their lives. Participants can also opt to acquire our visual journal (25 SGD).
The general theme of our corporate wellness programme is “Taking care of oneself through art therapy by developing internal calmness and joy”. Other programmes can be tailor-made according to the needs of the organisation.
